What is Probably Real Trailers?
Probably Real Trailers is a community where film audiences and filmmakers join forces to create awesome independent films.
We invite worldwide audiences like YOU to subscribe and become Cinematic Insiders.
As a Cinematic Insider, you'll be able to give feedback directly to filmmakers on their film concepts, as well as aspects of development (like casting, concept art, and more).
The philosophy behind our business model is to help audiences and filmmakers connect early - during the initial development phase. This allows audiences a chance to guide the development process from the beginning. It also gives filmmakers important insight into their project's audience. This insight makes it easier to raise money and find the right partners for the film. You'll get to be a crucial part of getting films made!
Joining our community as a Cinematic Insider is free. We don’t charge filmmakers either. We make money when we successfully help get a film financed or sell the rights to someone else to make it.
Our business model relies on your participation:
You’ll share feedback on specific movie projects (by watching trailers and marketing materials like posters, concept art, etc.)
Tell us what you like to watch! (where you watch, what type of talent/actors you prefer, what you enjoy, etc.)
Share basic demographic/lifestyle information to help us understand who connects with what projects
Understanding the audience is a key part of how studios decide what films to make. But this type of market research usually costs thousands (or tens of thousands) of dollars. The high cost of audience research can be a HUGE barrier for filmmakers. But without this indispensable audience information, it’s extremely difficult to appeal to financiers, distributors, sales agents, production companies, or other gatekeepers.
Our ecosystem will benefit both audiences and filmmakers. Audiences will get a chance to communicate directly with filmmakers, help get their favorite projects made, and guide how they get made. And filmmakers will get the benefit of understanding who their audience is and start building a fan-base long before the film is produced.
You can make a big difference in getting films made, while also getting exclusive access to rewarding experiences, such as movie set visits, private screenings, meet and greets, red carpet premieres, and parties. You’ll be the first to know any news on our projects and have first dibs on any perks we offer.
We’re excited to have you here and eager to start helping filmmakers get their films produced.
Sincerely,
Julia Ling and Micah Haughey
